Do We Inherit Heaven or Earth?
"The concept of going to heaven as if it were our reward is clearly
Greek/Roman/Western in origin and totally foreign to Hebraic thought and the
Bible. The righteous will inherit the
earth, albeit a new heaven and a new earth, nevertheless, the earth, not heaven."
In most instances, salvation was wrought when Father YHVH defeated Israel's enemies, either directly or through human agents.
Tony Robinson ~ http://restorationoftorah.org/WeeklyParsha/MBMVayechi.htm
Psalms 37:29 says "the righteous shall inherit the earth". Yeshua even said in Matthew 5:5 "the meek inherit the earth". No where in the scriptures does it ever say that we go to heaven. In Revelation the word says a new Jerusalem comes down. We receive a new heaven and earth, but we live on earth. Just like the Garden of Eden. Elohim came to the Garden.
Shalom!!!
When we, as Westerner’s, speak of salvation, we generally think of John 3:16. Furthermore, to the Western mind, salvation has the connotation of being saved from our sins so that we can go to heaven one day.
Our concept of salvation is more intangible, ethereal and other worldly. The Hebraic view (and the scriptural view) of salvation is totally at odds with our current Western mindset. I will quote to you from Marvin Wilson's book, Our Father Abraham:
The Hebrew verb
yasha means "to save" or "to deliver," and the noun yeshua‘ah, "salvation," derives from it. In the Hebrew Bible, this verb is not used in the sense of "escape to heaven." Rather, a careful study of its many occurrences reveals that the main idea is "to liberate," "to deliver from evil," or "to free from oppression."
In most instances, salvation was wrought when Father YHVH defeated Israel's enemies, either directly or through human agents.

To Walk As Yeshua Did Is To Keep Torah
Yeshua was the Living Torah (John 1:14 the Word became flesh) The Torah is YHWH's Instructions for Living. Sin is the transgression of the Torah (law) 1 John 3:4. What law? The New Testament was not written down as it was happening. It was written many many years later so the only Law that they could have been talking about was Torah.

We are either a servant of YHWH or of sin (John 8:34; Luke 16:13). One is an easy Master who gives true freedom (James 2:12; Matthew 11:30), the other is a hard master that restricts freedom. Because of what the Messiah did, we can make our choice between the two!
We become free from bondage by becoming a bondservant to YHWH! I guess that would make the opposite true as well... turning against YHWH and being free from Him results in you being in bondage~ Ken Rank.

Sheep or A Goat?
SHEEP learn and OBEY the COMMANDMENTS of our Creator ELohim.
GOATS do what THEY want, making excuses for their SIN, DISOBEDIENCE and REBELLION, falsely teaching, believing and claiming that the commandments were allegedly "done away with".
WHAT then did Messiah teach for 3-1/2 years?
Was it to OBEY the commandments because of our LOVE for Him

Judaism Is In the Bible
It is not what you think though. I keep hearing people say that Judaism is never mentioned in the Bible. But that is incorrect.
"For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion (G2454), how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it: And profited in the Jews' religion (G2454) above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers." The Last 2,000 Years
I had always wondered where in the bible was it prophesied about the last 2,000 yrs. But He reveals the end out of the beginning. In this last torah portion we had, I learned that it is in the story of Joseph when he descends into Egypt in Genesis 39-41. Joseph was rejected by his brothers and handed over
to the Gentiles, so likewise, Yeshua was rejected by His brothers and handed
over to the Romans. And why does Genesis 39-41 account for twenty years of
Joseph’s life? Because YHWH intended
for us to understand its Messianic significance. Through this He teaches us
that the Gentiles would know the Messiah as a Savior for 2000 years. During
Joseph’s twenty-year exile from his family, all of his characteristics seemed
to be Gentile—he spoke the Egyptian language, had an Egyptian name, dressed
like an Egyptian and looked like an Egyptian. His brothers didn’t even
recognize him when they were brought before him after twenty years of
separation. So likewise, Yeshua is known throughout the Gentile world as Jesus.
His transformation into a Gentile has been so complete that most non-Jewish
believers do not even see Him as a Torah-observant Rabbi any more. Furthermore,
His Jewish brothers even see Him as a Gentile false God. Yeshua's words seem truer more ever day that I study the Torah.
"For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he
wrote about Me" (John 5:46)

Churches Celebrating Halloween
I remember as a kid growing up in christianity that the church had nothing to do with Halloween and it was frowned upon but everyone still did it. Now churches are taking part. Before we left the church we had also taken part of the Hallelujah celebration. But it always bothered me but was pushed by our pastor that we must be involved. But Chip and I finally just stop helping and then we left the church all together. Now when I look at this video it is just so eye opening.

Why I Dislike Living in Spiritual Egypt #7
Have you seen the new Walgreens commercial? A lady in a robe is in her kitchen and you can tell she is not feeling well. So, she is putting all kind of healthy foods into a blender to drink it. Stuff like orange juice, ginger, green veggies, chicken noodle soup, etc. You get the idea. She blends it and of course turns out to be green and she never drinks it. While she is turning her nose up at it the narrator is talking bad about health foods she is using or her friends might have suggested. Like we shouldn't use healthy foods to get better but tells us that we need to go into Walgreens because they know what you need. And next thing you know they are showing two people talking about over the counter medicines down the medicine aisle in Walgreens. Like some cough medicine or pain killer will do the job. UGH!!! Really?!?
I will take a glass of unpasturized O.J. |

How Do We Overcome?
All my years going to church and reading/studying my bible my question was how do we overcome? I would read over and over again how we are overcomers through Christ. Because He overcame we are now overcomers through Him. Huh? What does all that mean? How do we overcome? I would like to share something with you all that I just come into understanding*. We all know we sinned by turning away from our Creator and His Torah. We just seem to have this draw to the world and its worldly ways. And we have to learn to say "no". But how? We now know that Yeshua died so we could be forgiven and be brought back in the fold and we now walk in Torah because that is what He expects of His bride/children. But here is just a little more understanding on this. In Genesis 6:5 before the flood and in 8:21 after the flood the word says
6:5 "And Elohim saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."
8:21"And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done."
The word imagination in Hebrew is yetser as in inclination which is from the word yatsar to create and is the biblical way to say nature. As in it is "his nature to do wrong" or "the nature of man's heart is evil from his youth" A natural tendency to want to do evil. But YHVH has given us Torah and we are to walk with our Elohim. Torah is the Instruction on how to overcome that evil nature that we have. Our nature is to steal, covet, lie, cheat, etc., just to do something bad. The Instructions that He gave us is the guidelines so we can walk with Him. It is how we overcome. The Do's and the don'ts. Our guidelines, our Instructions, Torah. Amein!

Oprah Winfrey: Jesus Did Not Come To Die On The Cross
Still like Oprah Winfrey now? I know people who just love her. Really??? They follow her like she is some god or idol. Scary. She has a life coaching class that people can take. How about put that out of your life and just read Torah and let that be your Instructions for Life? How about come to YHVH and let Him be King, and Saviour? There is only one Way to our Father and that is Yeshua and what He did on the Cross. He saved us from our Apostacy from YHVH, from Torah. So, now we can be His Bride. So after learning the truth about what she believes can you honestly continue to support/follow her?

Tzitz and Tzitzit
This is from Hebrew in Israel on Facebook~
"I was reading a book about the book of Leviticus and read an interesting idea. The writer was going over the different messages of the book and pointed out the verse “You will be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:6) and went on comparing Israel to the priests. One of the ideas he mentioned is the parallel between the gold plate on the forehead of the high priest called in Hebrew Tsits, and the Tsitsit. Notice how the words sound the same? Any how he drew a parallel that both items have a blue thread in them!!! Isn’t that interesting?!"
Comment from a Karen Polcsik
"According to the Artscroll "The Mishkan" book, "Wide turquoise ribbons were looped through the slots of the headpiece (Tzitz). The ribbons along each side went around to the back of the Kohen Gadol's head. The ends of the ribbons would be tied at the base of the Kohen Gadol's head."

Yom Kippur, The Day of Coverture?
I would like to share something with you all about Yom Kippur that might give a little more understanding about what happened when Yeshua was crucified and how he partly fulfilled the Day of Atonement. This is from a gentleman named Ken Rank. This is in his own words.
" A couple of years ago our Saturday morning bible study began the task of trying to define Kippur, as in Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. The picture being created in this Feast (see Lev. 23:27-32 and 16:7-26) does not align to how Kippur is generally taught within Christianity. The idea is that Yehoshua (Jesus) has taken on our sin in a manner depicted by the picture seen in the scapegoat. This bridges the gap between us and the Father making us “at one with” Him, where we were once separated because of sin. Tyndale when translating his bible in 1534, created the word “atonement” from the idea of being “at one with” God. Hence the “Day of Atonement” comes from that translation.

Most lexicons
however, define Kippur as “to cover” or “a covering.” The idea being taught
then is that we are covered by Messiah’s shed blood and our sins are forgiven.
Some teachings take this to the degree of saying that “Messiah’s blood is so
opaque, God can’t see our sin thus we are covered.” Well, we have a problem;
God is all knowing and all seeing so how then can He not see through blood? We
can’t hide anything from Him; we aren’t going to sneak something passed him.
Nothing is so opaque that God can’t see through it, unless He is not all
seeing! There is, of course, another issue here and that is in the
understanding of what was his blood was shed for. He stated, “This is my blood
of the new covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matt.
26:28) The word for remission is aphesis, which means freedom, a pardon, a
freeing from bondage. When you take this
Greek word back into the LXX, and then see where and how it is used in the
underlying Hebrew, I believe you will see that how the word is used as compared
to how it is commonly taught, differ to enough of a degree that we do not get
the proper picture by reading this word only in English.
Maybe you can now
see why we took this up as a topic of study; there are clearly issues here that
need to be reconciled. The Feasts point at and teach us about the work of
Messiah. If Yehoshua is Messiah, then the work he has done should be in line,
the fulfillment of the pictures which prophesied of his coming, with the work
he did at his first coming. Meaning, the spring Feasts speak “primarily” about
his first coming. The fall feasts, of which Kippur is one, speak “primarily”
about his return. The work he will do in fulfilling the pictures given to us
about Kippur must remain in line with those very pictures. And the idea that
his shed blood covered us in a blanket of red that God cannot see through,
again, does not stand in harmony with an all knowing - all seeing God. Besides,
in general, the fall Feasts have not been fulfilled. Trying to derive a
complete picture concerning this fall Feast from his first coming is not
possible. Aspects of his first coming will be applied to a day like Kippur, but
the main emphasis of that work is yet to come.
After a month of
Saturdays we could not pull this together. We finally decided to take a break
and cover some other areas we wanted to get into. One of our elders (Frank
Houtz, http://www.drybonesrestorationcompany.com/)
had a hunch one afternoon, a hunch that led him to our public library. There he
found an older Law Dictionary and looked up a word I personally had never heard
of, coverture. Sure enough, there it was, preserved in a form that answered our
questions. Older is the key seeing the
Woman’s Right’s Movement had this law changed. It is no longer defined in the
manner it once was. Here is a comment based on the older definition of
“coverture:”
"By marriage,
the husband and wife are one person in law, that is, the very being or legal
existence of the woman is suspended during the marriage, or at least is
incorporated and consolidated into that of the husband: under whose wing,
protection, and cover, she performs everything; and is therefore called in our
law-french a 'feme-covert,' ...and her condition during her marriage is called
her coverture." (Blackstone Commentaries, 442)
The idea here is
that a wife is under the legal umbrella of her husband. When this law was
written, if a wife was caught stealing, her husband had to answer for her in
court. In other words, when it comes to being prosecutable, the buck stopped
with the husband. He answered for her crimes. How is this related to Kippur?
The word is defined as “covering,” but it isn’t a blanket that God can’t see
through, it is a legal term defining the man as head of his home, of his bride.
Israel is the bride of Messiah, she is guilty, she has whored around and
committed all manner of sin… but the husband has already answered for her
crimes. Sin has not been removed yet, but the work is done and Messiah now acts
as advocate, as counselor, (notice the additional legal terms also found in
scripture to describe his current work) before the Father. On that Yom Kippur
after he returns, he will once and for all remove the sins from his bride and
cast it from whence it came, onto Azazel. We will then be pure and spotless, with
Torah written forever on the mind and heart.
Peace to you.
Ken"

Torah Pearls of the HafTorah
My husband and I have really just started to listen to Torah Pearls every week on Truth2u.org. I have known about them for sometime but being a wife and a mom and trying to unlearn, then learn and play catch up takes up alot of my time. We really enjoy listening to Jono, Keith and Nehemia as they read through the Torah Portions for each week. I love it. It is true Torah Pearls. As they read along you get the understanding from a Jewish man (Nehemia Gordon) and two Torah, Hebrew Roots believers (Keith Johnson and Jono Vandor) or whatever we like to call ourselves. And even though they are coming to a close as they have been doing it for a year they have now decided to to the HafTorah. Woo Hoo! Oh, but good news the Torah pearls from the past year are all on the website so you can go and listen to them anytime. I am so excited about this. Thank you YHWH. What wonderful understanding our Father is giving us.

A Little Bit of Humor for Yom Kippur
A house painter who deeply regretted stealing from his clients by diluting the paint, but charging full price. He poured out his heart on Yom Kippur hoping for Divine direction. A booming voice comes from Heaven and decrees, "Repaint, repaint ... and thin no more!" Yom Kippur begins Wednesday evening, September 26th if you follow the New Moon sighting in Israel. Yom Kippur is The Day of Atonement. "Atonement" is a conjunctive of "At One-ment" -- of reconnecting, strengthening the relationship with the Almighty, the reconciliation of the Almighty with each of us.

Haftorah Explained
Every Shabbat after reading the Torah there is a Jewish custom to read a portion from the prophets, this section is called Ha-ph-tarah הפטרה. The root of the word is פ.ט.ר and in the context it is used means to dismiss. The reason this custom has such a name can be explained in two ways, but first the history:
The origin of the custom (though one can argue differently)has to do with a Greek decree that forbid the Jews from reading the Torah. The trick was to choose a section from the prophets that had similar ideas to the weekly portion and read it; if any Greek official would have caught them they would show it was not a Torah (Abudraham Shabbat morning service). Knowing this history we can say one of the two things about this name:
1. That they were dismissed from reading the Torah and could read the prophets instead.
After this Greek decree had been canceled Jews did not want to undo the custom (which was based on a Taqanah- constitution of the elders) and kept on reading from the prophets after the Torah. Knowing this we can say the second thing about this name:
2. It meant that this was a respectful dismissal of the Torah reading, meaning not just ending the reading with out some thing in-between.
Some Jewish sources also state that there was a custom to read from the writings in the midday service on Shabbat after the short Torah reading. This custom is assumed to have been kept in the land of Israel and Persia.

New Moon Sighted September 17th, 2012
Per Nehemia Gordon "New moon sighted by multiple observers from Israel. Sighted from Mt Yoash at 6:54pm". (Jeruslaem time)
The new moon of Yom Teruah sighted on September 17, 2012 from Sderot. Photo by Paola Manuccci. This witness in the heavens to our heavenly Father's sacred time appeared over Sderot, the town in southern Israel, which has been under persistent rocket attack by Arab terrorists for over ten years. It is also a celestial witness to God's continuing covenant with His people Israel, as it is written:
Jer. 31:35 Thus says Yehovah, who gives the sun for a light by day, the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, who disturbs the sea, and its waves roar (Yehovah of hosts is His name):
Jer. 31:36 "If those ordinances depart From before Me, says Yehovah, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever."

When Will We Learn Torah?
Deu 31:10-12
"And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles, When all Israel is come to appear before the YHWH thy Elohim in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing. Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the YHWH your Elohim, and observe to do all the words of this law:"
When Yeshua returns as King and we celebrate Feast of Tabernacles, He will teach us the Torah so we may hear, learn and fear YHWH our Elohim and observe to do all the words of the Torah. For the Torah of Adonai will go forth from Zion.

The Power of Shabbat
Several weeks ago as my family sat down for a Shabbat dinner after a long week, all I could see and hear were the smiling faces and laughter filling the air as we indulged ourselves in one of Mrs. Pindell's miraculous meals. We had embarked yet again on that moment of the week when the 5 of us could take a deep breath and enjoy the company of being a family. I know most of you will agree that a family dinner is something special, when everyone shows up at the same time and partakes in a meal. While we generally have family dinners together, there is always something special, something greater, at the one that approachs on Friday evenings, its as if the whole atmosphere changes.
Beyond the usual splendor of the meal itself, there just always seems to be a spirtiual fulfillment in taking part in something our Father sanctified and set apart, not for him by the way, but for us.
Mark 2:27: 'And he said unto them, the sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath'.
So there we were, sitting together as a family, smiling, laughing and enjoying each others company. To add to the moment in the midst of our conversation, our oldest tells me he has learned a lot of things from me. It really took me back for a minute and really made me see just how mature our children were becoming. I mean come on, how often does a teenage boy tell his dad he's learned a thing or two from him.
Sabbath is a time to re-connect with each other, discuss the week that happend, look forward to the week ahead, but most important take part in the moment where our Father has made his presence known to us and we can all be there together. I think our Father knew a thing or two about Sabbath when He instituted it, and I think as you learn the importance of it, you'll see greater richness and blessings in the family that surrounds you.
Praise YEHOVAH!!!

What Makes Yom Teruah Beautiful
Yom Teruah is just a few days away. Judah calls this Holy Day Rosh Hoshanah, the new year. A lot of people have said it is incorrect to call it that. But Rosh Hoshanah, Yom Teruah, is when Yeshua is to return and send the angels to gather His elect from the four corners. He goes on to say but of the day or hour no man knows but our Father in heaven. That is a hebrew idiom for Yom Teruah. But I do have to say that when Yeshua returns, does that not start a new year? The Millennium reign, the seventh year, that Sabbath of 1000 yrs to reign with our Messiah? Maybe it is a new year in a sense?!

Why Hasn't the Temple Been Rebuilt?
For years I understood that we should have nothing to do with a new temple being built, if it was to happen. "We are now the temple so not needed", I was told. But hold on. Where will He officiate from? He will reign for a thousand years. I don't think He is going to be renting office space in downtown Jerusalem. You know? So, that means at sometime it will be built. And yes, it will be done by Him when He returns. How do I know that?
Zec 6:12-15 “And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the YHWH of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the YHWH: Even he shall build the temple of the YHWH; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the YHWH. And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the YHWH, and ye shall know that the YHWH of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the YHWH your Elohim.”
And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of the YHWH, and ye shall know that the YHWH of hosts hath sent me unto you. And this shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the YHWH your Elohim.”
Another reason why the temple can't be built yet is that it can only be built during a time of Peace. Remember, David couldn't build it because he was a man of war, 1 Kings 5:3-4. But to Solomon He had been given rest on every side. There was peace. The sages of Israel teach that the story of the wells is the story of the three Temples. Just as the first two wells were built amidst strife and conflict with Isaac’s neighbors, Israel’s neighbors eventually destroyed the first two Temples! The third well, which was characterized by peace between Isaac and his neighbors, is similar to the third Temple, which will be built when Messiah comes. It will be built at a time when Israel is at peace with her neighbors and it will not be destroyed. (excerpt taken from http://restorationoftorah.org/WeeklyParsha/MBMReeh.pdf)
Another reason is the return of the ten tribes. It is known among the Jews that they need all the children there in Israel for this to happen. I came across an interesting article at www.beingjewish.com where the gentleman said that the return of the ten tribes is a part of the Final Redemption. You can read the entire article here. Statutes and Judgements, What are They?
When we read these words in english we generally pass over them.
The word statutes is translated from the Hebrew word, chukim —the singular is chok. Some versions of the Bible translate this word as statutes, or decrees. What are statutes (chukim)? Statutes are laws from the Holy One that are constant and never change. Jeremiah 31:35-36 "Thus saith the YHWH, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The YHWH of hosts is his name:
If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the YHWH, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever."
The word ordinances is actually derived from the Hebrew word chok. These verses capture the true essence of chukim. Chukim are statutes that will never pass away. They are constant and as predictable as the laws of nature governing the movement of the heavenly bodies. Did you know that the Holy Days—Mo'edim—are referred to as chukim in Leviticus 23? Now that you know the Scriptural definition of a chok, if someone said to you, "The Biblical Holy Days were only valid until the death and resurrection of Yeshua," what should your response be? Not True. The Moedim are instructions defined in the Torah as Chukim, which are statutes that will never pass away. They are constant and predictable as the of nature governing the movement of the heavenly bodies. Therefore the Moedim could not have passed away with the death and resurrection of Yeshua.
The word judgments is translated from the Hebrew word mishpatim. Some versions of the Bible translate this word as judgments, ordinances or laws. What are judgments (mishpatim)? A judgment (mishpat) is a decision/judgment that must be made between two claims.
The word commandments is translated from the Hebrew word mitzvot--the singular is mitzvah.
Deut. 11:26-32 "Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the YHWH your Elohim, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the YHWH your Elohim, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. And it shall come to pass, when the YHWH thy Elohim hath brought thee in unto the land whither thou goest to possess it, that thou shalt put the blessing upon mount Gerizim, and the curse upon mount Ebal. Are they not on the other side Jordan, by the way where the sun goeth down, in the land of the Canaanites, which dwell in the champaign over against Gilgal, beside the plains of Moreh? For ye shall pass over Jordan to go in to possess the land which the YHWH your Elohim giveth you, and ye shall possess it, and dwell therein. And ye shall observe to do all the statutes and judgments which I set before you this day. "
What is the main understanding of Deut. 11:26-32? Those who obey the commandments (mizvot), the statutes (chukim) and the judgments (mishpatim) will receive the blessing. Those who do not obey will receive the curse.
The primary function/purpose of the Torah is to bring LIFE to those who obey it and that those who disobey the Torah will receive DEATH. This verse continues that theme. Obedience or lack of obedience to the Torah is a matter of LIFE AND DEATH!

Set Thee Up Great Stones
In Deut. 11:29 YHVH commands Israel to make a memorial of an altar and a plaster engraving of the laws upon Mt.Gerizaim and Mt. Ebal. In Deut. 27:2-3 "And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister: And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law."
In 1980 this site was rediscovered by Israeli archaeologist, Adam Zertal. He found a large rectangular structure about the size of house that was built of large uncut stones with ashes and animal bones from only kosher animals.. You can read the whole article here.

A Pinnacle of the Temple
I had always wondered as a child what was the pinnacle of the temple. I guess I had thought it looked like a steeple. I know, kinda stupid. But this Torah Portion in the Brit Hadasha took us to Matthew 4:5 where the devil takes Yeshua up to the Holy City Jerusalem and setteth Him on a Pinnacle of the Temple. Well, there it is, a Pinnacle of the Temple.

Forgetting Adonai

Interesting that Moses tells the Israelites that He says that forgetting YHWH is equated with not keeping His Torah! Hmmm!

Recompense Before Reward
Isa 40:10 "Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him."
Isaiah 40:10 states that Adonai will come with reward (for righteousness) and recompense (for unrighteousness). The recompense comes BEFORE the reward! In the Torah portion, recompense (the plague) came before the reward (land inheritance).
A correction to Am Yisrael's behavior in the incident with Moab/Midyan in Numbers 25. In other words, the judgment of Am Yisrael, the plague and correction (Numbers 26:1-30:17) needed to occur before He was able to use them as instruments of His righteous indignation. How could He use a sinful Israel to judge the heathen.
It had always been Adonai's plan to judge the nations of Canaan because of their sin. This is clearly taught in Genesis 15:13-16. What was not revealed previously was that Am Yisrael would be the instruments of His wrath. Considering Adonai is judging the nations of Canaan because of their multitude of sins, would it be appropriate for Him to judge them with Israel if Israel is just as sinful? Of course not. Therefore, the judgment against Midyan will not occur until Adonai first cleans up Israel.

1Pe 4:17 "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of Elohim: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?"
I believe Peter is quoting from Ezekiel.
Eze 9:3-6 "And the glory of the Elohim of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side; And the YHWH said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof. And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house."
He began at the Sanctuary. He is getting His house in order. Can we not see that is what He is doing this day? We need to get our house in order.

9th of Av
On the
9th of Av throughout history many tragedies befell the Israelites/Jewish people,
including:
- The incident of the
spies slandering the land of Israel with the subsequent decree to wander
the desert for 40 years.
- The destruction of the
first Temple in Jerusalem by Nevuchadnetzar, King of Babylon in 423 BCE.
- The destruction of the
Second Temple in Jerusalem by the Romans in 70 CE.
- The fall of Betar and
the end of the Bar Kochba revolt against the Romans 65 years later, 135
CE.
- Pope Urban II declared
the First Crusade. Tens of thousands of Jews were killed, and many Jewish
communities obliterated.
- The Jews of England were
expelled in 1290.
- The Jews of Spain were
expelled in 1492.
- World War One broke out
on Tisha B'Av in 1914 when Russia declared war on Germany. German
resentment of the Treaty of Versailles set the stage for World War II and
the Holocaust.
- On Tisha B'Av,
deportation began of Jews from the Warsaw Ghetto.

Death of the High Priest
This is interesting. A person who unintentionally kills someone is sent into exile, into a city of Refuge and cannot return to their ancestral land until the High Priest has died. The High Priest was a mediator between the people and Elohim. Because of His death, a substitute, we receive Life. We are in exile. We are unintentional killers of Yeshua. Our sin put Him on the cross. But we seek refuge IN Him.
Because right now, He is our High Priest but one day that job will be laid down and then He returns as King. So, does that mean until Yeshua comes back as King that we will not be able to return to the land? Just like Joshua was the one to take the Israelites in, so too Yeshua will take us in? Just thinking.
