The Israelites were given the Torah and they are told in Deut.4:5-6 "Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Yahweh my Elohim commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people."
This is your wisdom and understanding. Let that sink in. Chew on that. Roll around in it. We know from Proverbs 6:23 it says "the commandment is a lamp; and the law (torah) is a light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life". Your lamp is the commandments, and the Torah is the light given off from the lamp. When we live out Torah it is the light shining forth out of us.
Proverbs 21:20 says "There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up."
Psalms 104:15 "And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart."
Ecc. 8:1 "Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed."
Ecc. 2:13 "Then I saw that wisdom excelleth folly, as far as light excelleth darkness."
Job 28:28 "And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Yahweh, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding."
Psalms 111:10 "The fear of the Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever." When we do His commandments we have good understanding.
Psalms 112:1 "Praise ye the Yahweh. Blessed is the man that feareth the Yahweh, that delighteth greatly in his commandments."
Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of theYahweh is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."
1 Cor. 1:30 "But of him are ye in Yahushua, who of Elohim is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption"
Psalms 119:53 "Horror hath taken hold upon me because of the wicked that forsake thy law."
Proverbs 13:9 "The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out.
Romans 1:5 "By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name."
Proverbs 17:16 "Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?"
Job 28:18 "He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world"
Proverbs 31:10 "Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." Virtuous woman is wisdom.
Proverbs 4:11 "I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths."
Isaiah 42:16 "And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them."
Romans 13:11 "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
Again, we need to chew on these for awhile. Let these scriptures be put together as puzzle pieces and a picture be revealed that those who are wise are the ones keeping His commandments.
This is your wisdom and understanding. Let that sink in. Chew on that. Roll around in it.
