When I was a little girl and someone hurt my feelings, I was told to forgive and let it go. I am a very down to earth person and I have always felt that way. Just let it go. But what does it truly mean to forgive and let it go. I came across a great explanation by Brad Scott one day and I would like to share it with you. It brought me to tears.
The word forgive in Greek is : aphiēmi
G863 ἀφίημι af-ee'-ay-mee
From G575 and ἵημι hiēmi (to send; an intensive form of εἶμι eimi (to go)); to send forth, in various applications: - cry, forgive, forsake, lay aside, leave, let (alone, be, go, have), omit, put (send) away, remit, suffer, yield up.
G575 is apo means off, away and usually denotes separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal.
When taken back to the Hebrew word Nasa:
H5375
נסה נשׂ
nâśâ' nâsâh
naw-saw',
naw-saw'
Brad Scott's words "It is an action word to lift up or to bear. What does that mean? What does it truly mean to forgive someone? This is the word Nasa that is used when the priest would take the offerings and lift it up in the air and give it as an offering to YHWH and then put it on the altar and burn it up. Now if you understand nothing new is ever created. What I mean is our Father is the Creator of the Universe. We can only take what he created and then make something out of that. Things don't go away either they just change form. Take water, it is either a liquid, gas, or solid. It is always in some form. That is how all objects are. They just change shape/form. So with that in mind. When the offerings were burnt up it didn't just cease to exist, it just changed form. Because everything is energy. Everything puts off a frequency. There is energy in that goat or that lamb and when they lifted it up in the air. Now, remember who is the prince of the power of the air? Eph 2:2 "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:"
Also, sounds waves are in the air, and when he lifted it up, then put it on the altar and burned it up, it changed into the last form of energy which is heat. And the heat just disipates into the universe and when it got out of our atmosphere, it just didn't disappear it changed form into heat and no longer useful and goes out into the vacuum of space where there is no sound. That is where the offering went and that is the concept of nasa is to lift something up in the air like the priest would do with the offering. That is what you are supposed to do when you forgive. You take that offense and hold it in your hands and you lift it up in the air and you give it unto Him. And as for as your concerned it is no longer on planet earth. It is disipated into the universe and that is how you are supposed to treat true forgiveness. Just like when the ark was lifted up on the waters. The waters increased and bare up (nasa) the ark and it was lifted up above the earth. Those eight people were forgiven. Can you see the difference between those in the ark and those that perished in the flood? They were forgiven and found grace in the eyes of our Father. "
